CAN Insurance Solutions FAQ
  1. What is PIVOT?
    PIVOT is the technology and portal that will be part of Adviceworks 4.0, that powers CAN Insurance Solutions. It is an optional platform for advisors to use with their traditional life insurance business. An advisor may seamlessly log in via Adviceworks to use the tool. Once on the site, an advisor can do a term life insurance application electronically through the drop ticket system, review case status or engage with our BGA partners, if they are interested in a permanent insurance solution.

  2. Who will be the participating BGAs?
    CAN’s BGA alliance includes: SterlingBridge Insurance (Brian Carroll), AdvisorNet Insurance (Dan May), Georgetown Financial Group (John DeSalva) and Millennium Brokerage Group (Bob Williams), these are regions within Cetera Advisor Networks. For broker-dealer use only.
  3. How were the BGA’s currently participating in the CAN Insurance Solution,selected?
    Each BGA was put through a due diligence process to determine scale, capacity, coverage and business practices. Each BGA also has agreed to provide a share of override compensation to CAN for their participation in the platform.
  4. What about products the BGA’s will be offering?
    Each BGA will offer products limited to those on our approved product list.
  5. How is compensation paid?
    The carrier will pay to CAN the agent compensation. That compensation will pay through the grid at an advisor’s payout rate as determined by the region. This compensation will be counted towards conference qualifications.
  6. What about the legacy outlets for life insurance at CAN such as CRUMP or direct relationships?
    Those will remain in place and an advisor may choose to utilize one of these venues. They will not be part of the platform.
  7. What about Street/Agent level compensation?
    We have negotiated top agent level commissions for all products and carriers and is the same, regardless of BGA selected.
  8. What if I decide to leave CAN, what happens to my insurance business?
    The business can move with you to another agency.
  9. What products are currently being offered?
    This platform will be limited to traditional life products. All products offered are part of our approved product list.
  10. Why should I use this platform, as opposed to going with a local general agent?
    For a variety of reasons! a) Compensation - Our compensation at the agent level is highly competitive b) Simplicity - Rather than receiving multiple 1099 forms on your insurance business, you can get a consolidated 1099 form through CAN c) Conference Qualifications - let your Fixed Insurance business drive you to the next level d) Familiarity - You are doing business with members of the Cetera Advisor Networks family.
  11. How do I get appointed to do business on the portal?
    First, select the BGA form BGA Alliance page you would like to work with on a case. Once you have selected that BGA, please contact that BGA to get appointed with the carrier you will be using, you can be contracted with more than one BGA.
  12. Can I do permanent insurance, utilizing the drop ticket system?
    Yes, request a quick quote and send it to the BGA of your choice. Case status will be populated on the platform dashboard.
  13. Can my assistant work within the CAN Insurance Solution on my behalf?
    Yes, if the system is reflecting your assistant as your delegate under the “Delegate” tab. He or she may input a case on your behalf, however your will need to be the one that submits the case.
